Diversitas Career & Coaching News

Welcome,

With Spring all around us and some newly returned freedoms many people are starting to feel more like themselves again. That said without the energy and spirit they had pre-pandemic. However, as we re-emerge it is the perfect time to reflect on what has been and what you want more of in the future on the work and life front. The pandemic has proven what naturally resilient people we all are. If you carry this thinking forward, you can truly do more than you ever imagined. So how do you want to imagine your career future?

If you are considering a job or career change now is the time to do it. It is a job seekers market right now across most sectors and levels. However, we also appreciate you need to muster the energy and spirit to make this happen and many may like to choose the coming months to re-charge and reset and think about their careers in the new year. The market is predicted to remain solid for the coming 6- 12 months, so you have time.

TedX Video - The Authenticity Paradox with Professor Herminia Ibarra
This is a great 16-minute video by Herminia Ibarra who is an academic with a careers focus and is highly regarded in her discipline, including by myself. This video highlights many important points. What I would encourage you to focus on, particularly for those reflecting on what next career wise is the take away message of “What got you here, won't get you there ..” or as a commenter shared, the work of the wonderful Carl Rogers, "When I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"
